How I Landed in Cybersecurity Job-MY JOURNEY

Hello All, I’m going to share my experience of how I landed my first job at Byte Blanket in a field that is very passionate to me — Cyber Security. In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, while I had just finished my college degree in Sep’20, I was skeptical about getting into the Cyber Security field for two reasons:

1. The need to complete extensive research in the field before proceeding to pursue a career.

2. The lack of opportunity for freshers in Cyber Security.

I never gave up. Instead I kept myself busy and never stopped learning. Initially, I started working as an intern in a different role at an IT company, in December 2019. Though it was difficult in the beginning, I quickly adapted to the field.

Fast forward to June 2020, I interviewed at Byte Blanket and got selected for the role that I’ve always been extremely passionate about, Security Researcher. I had a smooth onboarding process, thanks to the People Management team who were very helpful. After two months, my internship was converted into a full-time employment opportunity. I’m currently placed as an Information Technology Security Associate at Byte Blanket where I am responsible for securing digital products and identifying breaches or weaknesses, if any.
