Hello All, I’m going to share my experience of how I landed my first job at Byte Blanket in a field that is very passionate to me — Cyber Security. In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, while I had just finished my college degree in Sep’20, I was skeptical about getting into the Cyber Security field for two reasons:
1. The need to complete extensive research in the field before proceeding to pursue a career.
2. The lack of opportunity for freshers in Cyber Security.
I never gave up. Instead I kept myself busy and never stopped learning. Initially, I started working as an intern in a different role at an IT company, in December 2019. Though it was difficult in the beginning, I quickly adapted to the field.
Fast forward to June 2020, I interviewed at Byte Blanket and got selected for the role that I’ve always been extremely passionate about, Security Researcher. I had a smooth onboarding process, thanks to the People Management team who were very helpful. After two months, my internship was converted into a full-time employment opportunity. I’m currently placed as an Information Technology Security Associate at Byte Blanket where I am responsible for securing digital products and identifying breaches or weaknesses, if any.
Byte Blanket Software Solutions is a digital technology, research and solutions company, founded in 2019 as a subsidiary of Smile Turtle Group (STG). I’ve always been in awe of Mr. Vijay Antony Alen, Founder and CEO of STG for his vision, leadership and receptiveness. He has never failed to amaze us by sharing his experiences, difficulties and challenges faced to shape him into the person he is today.
From Day 1, the culture at Byte Blanket never failed to fascinate me, be it the warm welcome messages from all in the STG community or how we celebrate employees’ achievements. Amidst the pandemic, Byte Blanket has been one of the only companies with zero layoffs and 185+ hires and counting. We continue to grow massively and will soon reach the 250 milestone.
